Born in Shrewsbury, England, Shirley was educated at the prestigious Priory Grammar School for girls. Her passion for event planning began at Longnor Hall, the ancestral home of Lord and Lady Burton. Later in her career she accepted the position as buyer for a large English conglomerate. Where her responsibilities included selecting and purchasing unique wedding related items from every corner of the globe.


After marriage to husband Robert, they moved to Indialantic, Florida.   In 1980, Shirley established an exclusive wedding consulting service, named "A Brides Aide", During the last twenty years she has gained an excellent reputation throughout the South, assisting hundreds of brides to plan the most important day of their lives.
